5 Stars in UK Film Review
The process of bringing Beneath A Mother's Feet into the world has been an enlightening journey, filled with both rewarding moments and challenges. It's a path that has brought me face to face with the realities of film festivals, celebrating when the film connects and feeling disheartened when it doesn't find its place.
Receiving a 5-star rating from UK Film Review is particularly meaningful, especially because they rarely give 5-star reviews.
This experience of making a short film, my first as a screenwriter and director, has been a mix of highs and lows. I’ve learned a lot from the point of view of a creative about the film industry, audience expectations, and my own creative process. The challenges, like not always fitting into the festival scene, have been tough but also valuable lessons in perseverance and belief in my vision.
I didn't embark on this project for the accolades. My objective was always to share a story close to my heart, hoping it might resonate with others. The experience has reminded me of the unique perspectives we all bring to storytelling and the privilege of being able to share those visions through cinema.
A heartfelt thanks goes to UK Film Review for their thoughtful review. Knowing the film has found resonance is deeply gratifying and a reminder of why we venture into the uncertain yet rewarding world of filmmaking.
